NEP Cell, SCERT Uttarakhand Organizes Twinning and Pairing of Schools Workshop for Collaborative Educational Practices

In a groundbreaking initiative to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among schools, the National Education Policy (NEP) Cell of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Uttarakhand organizing a two-day workshop on twinning and pairing of schools. The event will space on January 18 and 19, 2024, with an inaugural session that set the tone for the collaborative efforts ahead.


Opening Remarks by Bandana Garbyal, Director of Academic Research and Training Uttarakhand

The Director of Academic Research and Training in Uttarakhand, delivered a compelling inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and the sharing of best practices among schools. She highlighted the diverse educational landscape, encompassing schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, state boards, Kendriya Vidyalaya, minority-focused institutions, and more.

Garbyal noted that Jharkhand had already taken significant strides in this direction by publishing guidelines on twinning and pairing of schools. She called upon education authorities, including block education officers, chief education officers, school principals, teachers, and participants from various backgrounds, to join hands in framing cohesive best practices aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020.


In her address, Garbyal underscored the need for a collaborative roadmap that could be applied universally across private, public, and government schools. She urged the participants to draw inspiration from successful models and contribute towards creating a comprehensive framework during the workshop.

Deputy Director Shailendra Amoli's Expectations

Shailendra Amoli, who played a key role in organizing the workshop, expressed his expectations for tangible outcomes. He envisioned a concrete and practical model emerging from the discussions, providing schools with opportunities to explore new avenues for their students in the future.


Joint Director Asha Rani Painuily's Insights

Asha Rani Painuily briefed the participants on the role of NEP and SCF Uttarakhand in shaping guidelines during the two-day workshop. She emphasized the collaborative effort required from all educationists to create a framework for twinning and pairing schools that would be applicable at the grassroots level.



Workshop Details and Layout Plan

Workshop Coordinator Manoj Bahuguna presented the layout plan for the two-day event, outlining the schedule and activities. The workshop aimed to facilitate constructive discussions and practical sessions that would lead to the formulation of effective guidelines for implementing twinning and pairing of schools.

Support from NEP Cell Faculty and Office Staff

Faculty members from the NEP Cell, Kamakshya, and Ravi Topwal, along with office staff Sachin Nautiyal, provided assistance and support throughout the workshop to ensure its smooth conduct. Their collaborative efforts aimed to enable meaningful discussions and the formulation of practical strategies for implementing twinning and pairing of schools.
