Coming Soon: Two Fulbright US Teachers will be reaching to Dehradun for Fulbright TGC Exchange Program

 

Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India – 25/6/2024 

Two American Fulbright educators arriving first week of July 2024  in Dehradun, India, to participate in the prestigious Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program (TGC). This year's program focuses on strengthening educational ties between the United States and India.

The Fulbright TGC program equips teachers with skills to integrate international perspectives into their classrooms, fostering global competency in their students. The program includes an intensive training phase in the U.S. followed by a hands-on field experience abroad.


This year, Dehradun, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, serves as the host location. The American teachers will collaborate with their Indian counterparts to exchange best practices and develop innovative teaching methods.

Danielle Brown: A guest teacher with experience in global education initiatives, Danielle specializes in mathematics and science. She is known for her interactive and observational methods, fostering student engagement across various subjects


Corinna Christman: Specializing in mathematics for grades 9 and 10, Corinna utilizes innovative techniques to make math accessible and enjoyable for her students. She is committed to fostering a global mindset in her classroom.


Ramesh Prasad Badoni: A Fulbright alumnus (2021), Ramesh is the host teacher for this year's program. Currently serving as IT Faculty & Physics Teacher at SCERT UK, Ramesh is passionate about integrating global perspectives into local education. He sees this program as a way to introduce new concepts and opportunities for state school teachers, reviving their teaching skills in the context of 21st-century technology and pedagogy.

Building Bridges Through Education:

Ramesh Badoni's enthusiasm for the program is shared by local education officials. The Director General, Director of Academics, Secretary of Education, and Minister of Education have all supported this initiative. They believe this exchange program, spearheaded by Director of Academic Research and Training; Bandana Garbyal, will significantly improve the quality of education in the region.

Beyond the Walls of PM Shree School GGIC:

The Fulbright TGC program extends beyond the walls of PM Shree School GGIC Rajpur Road Dehradun. The Guest Fulbright Teachers will have the opportunity to visit local community schools, educational institutions, and cultural landmarks to better understand Uttarakhand and its education system. This immersive experience will pave the way for future Fulbright teacher exchange programs, opening doors for schools and teachers to embrace global education and share curriculum best practices.
