CIET-NCERT Organizes 53rd DIKSHA Online Meet: Showcasing State Initiatives and Innovations in Digital Education

The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, successfully conducted the 53rd DIKSHA online meeting with state coordinators overseeing DIKSHA content, QR codes, videos, and user engagement. The session also included an orientation on the latest version of DIKSHA.

Meeting Highlights

The meeting was initiated by Prof. Indu Kumar, Head of ICT, CIET-NCERT, and coordinated by Dr. Gulshan Mufeed Sr Academic Consultant from CIET. Prof. Indu Kumar provided a comprehensive overview of DIKSHA, highlighting its growth, content reach, and user engagement across states. Following this, Assistant Prof. Rejaul Karim conducted an orientation session for around 75 participants from different states, detailing the new features and enhancements of the DIKSHA platform.

State Presentations: Best Practices and Innovations

Representatives from Punjab, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand presented their respective state’s contributions to DIKSHA, including textbook integration, content development, and best practices in digital learning.

SCERT Uttarakhand’s Initiatives: NEP 2020 Implementation and Hackathon

Ramesh Badoni, IT faculty from SCERT Uttarakhand, showcased the state’s major initiatives under NEP 2020, including:

  1. MOOCs for Teachers

    • A key highlight was the online course "Fundamentals of ICT Tools for School Teachers of Uttarakhand State", a 10-hour self-paced MOOC.
    • The course has certified around 32,000 teachers, equipping them with fundamental ICT skills for effective classroom integration.
  2. Hackathon: Innovate Uttarakhand 2024-25

    • 2300+ ideas were shortlisted for the Hackathon.
    • Top 112 ideas were selected for further development, and 10 students and 2 teachers were declared winners.
    • The event encouraged Innovation and Design thinking, providing students and teachers with a platform to develop prototypes of their ideas.
    • A series of design thinking videos were showcased to inspire creativity and problem-solving skills among participants.

The 53rd DIKSHA online meet served as a valuable platform for states to exchange ideas, share best practices, and align with the National Education Policy 2020. The event emphasized teacher capacity-building, digital innovations, and fostering creativity among students. SCERT Uttarakhand’s initiatives, particularly the MOOCs for teachers and the Hackathon, set a strong example of how digital transformation can enhance the education system.

With such impactful efforts, DIKSHA continues to evolve as a robust platform for quality education, teacher empowerment, and student innovation across the country.
