Introduction:
The Central Institute of
Educational Technology (CIET), a part of the National Council of Educational
Research and Training (NCERT), organized a comprehensive online training
program for State Resource Groups from northern states including Punjab, Haryana,
New Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The focus of the training was on
e-content development using Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
tools and incorporating value addition in the teaching plan.
Inauguration:
The training was
inaugurated by the Joint Director of CIET-NCERT, Mr. Amrendra Behra. He
symbolically opened the training lamp, signifying the enlightenment and
transformation that technology can bring to education. In his address, Mr.
Behra emphasized the importance of integrating technology into teaching plans
and creating e-content for platforms like Diksha Portal and PMeVIDIYA. He
motivated the 256 participants to contribute to building a vast and rich
repository of educational resources accessible to students globally.
Training Program
Overview:
The training program
spanned five days and covered various aspects of e-content development using
ICT tools. Professor Indu Kumar provided an overview of the training program,
highlighting its objectives and expected outcomes. The focus was on equipping participants
with the skills and knowledge necessary to create engaging and effective
e-content for digital platforms.
ICT Tools Integration
Sessions:
Professor Angel
conducted specialized training sessions on the integration of ICT tools in
different subjects. These sessions aimed to enhance the participants'
understanding of how technology can be seamlessly integrated into various
academic disciplines, thereby making learning more interactive and meaningful.
State Showcase:
The coordinator and faculty from SCERT, Uttarakhand, Mr. R Badoni, showcased the e-content development plan for Uttarakhand. He presented the state's timeline for completing the e-content development, emphasizing the strategic approach to ensure high-quality resources. This showcase served as a model for other states and facilitated the exchange of ideas and best practices among the participants. Neha Dua took session on Cyber security and hygiene and layout the variety of exiting frauds and forthcoming challenges.
Conclusion:
The online training
conducted by CIET-NCERT proved to be a valuable initiative in empowering
educators from northern states to harness the potential of ICT tools in
e-content development. The participation of 256 enthusiastic educators and the
support of key figures like Mr. Amrendra Behra and Professor Indu Kumar
highlighted the commitment to advancing education through technology. The
collaborative efforts showcased by Mr. R Badoni for Uttarakhand added a
practical dimension to the training, inspiring participants to implement
similar strategies in their respective states. The successful completion of
this training program marks a significant step towards building a digital
repository of educational resources for the benefit of students nationwide.
