Uttarakhand PMeVidya Channel Initiatives

The Uttarakhand PMeVidya initiative is a transformative educational project to enhance digital learning across the state. By creating and curating video content for five channels (178 to 182) covering classes 1 to 12, the program seeks to make high-quality education accessible to all students. This initiative is spearheaded by subject matter experts who develop and record educational videos in the state-of-the-art virtual lab studio at Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya, Dehradun.

Content Creation and Distribution

The e-content videos produced are made available live on the State PMeVidya official YouTube channel and broadcasted on Satellite channels assigned to Uttarakhand by GOI, NCERT New Delhi. This ensures that students across the state can access these educational resources both online and via satellite TV, bridging the digital divide and ensuring equitable access to education.

Program Coordination and Management

The program is coordinated by DIET faculty members Sudhir Nautiyal and Pushpa Aswal. They oversee content development under the DIKSHA program and manage the allocated budget from the DIKSHA head at IT department of SCERT. Their leadership ensures that the project runs smoothly and that the content meets the highest educational standards.

Faculty members Ramesh Badoni and Shiv Prakash Verma play crucial roles in assisting and supporting the team. Team Members at PMeVidya are responsible for building, managing, uploading, reviewing, and vetting the e-content on both the DIKSHA platform and the PMeVidya channels. Their diligent efforts ensure the quality and reliability of the educational materials provided.

Collaborative Efforts

In streamlining work flow a dedicated team and resource personnel are assigned to develop e-content. Experts from schools, universities, and the public sector are invited to contribute their expertise in e-content development. This collaborative approach leverages the strengths of various educational institutions and professionals to produce high-quality content.

 Achievements and Future Plans

Since the initiative's inception after COVID-19, about 3,000 pieces of e-content have been developed and in the process of vetting will be made available on the DIKSHA portal and PMeVidya channels. This extensive library of educational resources serves as a valuable tool for students and teachers alike.

In addition to content for students, the platform also hosts several online courses and teachers' training programs. These initiatives aim to enhance the skills and knowledge of educators, ensuring that they are well-equipped to teach in the digital age.

The IT department of SCERT is continuously working to improve the quality of e-content. They are in the process of selecting competitive resource personnel to further elevate the standard of educational materials broadcasted on the five channels.

Conclusion

The Uttarakhand PMeVidya initiative represents a significant step forward in the state's educational landscape. By leveraging digital technologies and fostering collaboration among educational experts, the program ensures that quality education is accessible to all students. With ongoing efforts to enhance content quality and expand the library of educational resources, the initiative is set to make a lasting impact on the educational outcomes in Uttarakhand.
