Head Teachers and Key Resource Persons (KRP) Orientation Training Program on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)

In a significant move towards enhancing f Foundational literacy and numeracy skills among elementary grade students, SCERT Uttarakhand, in collaboration with allied educational institutes like the Azim Premji Foundation (APF), has launched a rigorous and cohesive training program for head teachers and key resource persons (KRPs).


The orientation training program, meticulously developed by SCERT and its educational partners, aims to equip educators with effective strategies and methodologies to improve FLN in young learners. The training sessions are being led by Assistant Director Dr. K. N. Bijalwan, who initially highlighted the objectives and the future course of action for the program.

Mentor teachers Dr. Gairola, Subra Singhal, and Akhilesh Dobhal and others are also playing a crucial role in assisting the sessions alongside trainers and facilitators. Their collective expertise and dedication are expected to ensure that the training is both comprehensive and impactful.

Joint Directors Kanchan Devradi and Asha Rani Painuly are maintaining a close oversight of the training program, ensuring its smooth execution and alignment with the set goals. Additionally, Ajay Nautiyal, the Additional Director, has expressed optimism that this FLN training will significantly nurture the fundamental skills of young students in schools across the state.

The Director of Academic Research and Training, Bandana Garbyal, has congratulated the course developers and the training team for organizing the KRP sessions in a manner that fosters fruitful interactions and discussions. This collaborative effort is anticipated to lay a strong foundation for the academic growth of elementary grade students, setting them on a path to future success.
