Webinar on History Teaching for D.El.Ed. Student-Teachers Organized by SCERT Uttarakhand and Sterlite EdIndia Foundation

 

Dehradun, 21 September 2024 – SCERT Uttarakhand, in collaboration with the Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, successfully organized an online webinar for D.El.Ed. student-teachers on the topic "History Teaching: Meaning, Importance, and Methods." The session aimed to enhance the teaching-learning experience of history, making it more engaging and fun for both teachers and students. Arun Thapliyal from SCERT coordinated the state level webinar.


The webinar, held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., emphasized the importance of history as a subject and discussed innovative and interactive teaching methods that can help make history lessons more enjoyable for students. The focus was on preparing future teachers by equipping them with advanced teaching skills, as recommended by NEP 2020.

The session was led by faculty from SCERT Uttarakhand, with Director Bandana Garbyal and Additional Director Asha Rani Panyuli emphasizing the importance of modernizing teaching methodologies in line with the recommendations of NEP 2020. They expressed confidence that the skills and techniques shared during the webinar would yield great results in classrooms across Uttarakhand. Narendra Joshi narrated the content online.

Additional Director Ajay Naudiyal also voiced optimism about the positive impact of this initiative, stating that the training would greatly enhance the teaching capabilities of future educators, making them more skilled and expert in their approach.

The event reflected SCERT Uttarakhand’s commitment to continuous teacher development and to ensuring that student-teachers are well-prepared to navigate the evolving landscape of education in the 21st century.
