International Education Day: SCERT Uttarakhand

International Education Day Celebrated at SCERT Conference Hall

The SCERT Conference Hall buzzed with activity as faculty members and officers gathered to celebrate International Education Day with enthusiasm. The event, presided over by Additional Director Pradeep Rawat, underscored the importance of advancing education through the integration of digital tools and resources.

In his opening address, Pradeep Rawat highlighted the critical role of Open Educational Resources (OERs) in enhancing the teaching-learning process. He emphasized their potential integration into the PM eVidya channel, envisioning a future where every faculty member actively engages in learning, curating, and developing e-content for schools. He further urged the faculty to create a comprehensive list of OERs aligned with specific subjects and curricula, thereby streamlining their application in classrooms.

The Assistant Director Dr K N Bijalwan built on these ideas, stressing the need for collaborative efforts among training and IT departments. He called for systematic mapping of digital content to the needs of schools and teachers. Additionally, he advocated for rigorous training programs to enhance the effective use of such resources.

Faculty member Ramesh Badoni presented a detailed list of OERs already available on the SCERT website. He proposed organizing orientation programs for all faculty members to ensure clarity and foster a deeper understanding of OER creation and utilization. His suggestion was met with unanimous agreement, reflecting a collective commitment to improving educational content delivery.

The celebration of International Education Day served as a call to action for SCERT’s dedicated faculty and staff. By leveraging digital tools like OERs and fostering collaborative efforts, SCERT aims to make quality education accessible to every corner of the state, staying true to its mission of empowering learners and educators alike.
