Uttarakhand SCERT: Annual SRG Mathematics Workshop Enhances Educators' Skills

SIEMAT Uttarakhand:
The State Resource Group (SRG) Mathematics Workshop, an annual event aimed at enhancing the skills of mathematics educators, concluded successfully. Hosted for lecturers from all 13 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETS) along with various schools, the workshop provided a comprehensive platform for professional development in mathematics education.

The primary objective of the workshop is to offer a guiding framework for math educators to make learning both meaningful and purposeful. Participants engaged in discussions on various effective pedagogies aimed at improving teaching methodologies and student outcomes.

Chandan Gughtiyal Faculty member from The Doon School lead the workshop first day as a resource person for the SGR Group. This year's workshop featured contributions from seasoned educators with vast experience in the field. One notable contributor, drawing from over two and a half decades of experience, focused on the theme of "Optimizing Classroom Engagement: Strategies for Facilitating Learning."

The workshop also introduced innovative techniques such as the Calendar Pedagogy, aimed at providing students with effective revision tools, and the "RAG" analysis technique to enhance student engagement.

Expressing gratitude towards the organizers and contributors, Dr. Manoj Kumar Shukla, the coordinator of the Math SRG, was acknowledged for his initiative in making the workshop widely popular across the state. Additionally, Mrs. Kanchan Devrari, Joint Director of SCERT, and Mr. Kala, Deputy Director, were recognized for their consistent attendance and support during the sessions.

The workshop witnessed active participation from esteemed educators such as Dr. N.P. Uniyal, Mr. Manoj Bhakuni, Mr. Gopal Kaparwan, and many others from SCERT and DIETS.

Overall, the SRG Mathematics Workshop served as an invaluable platform for learning, sharing insights, and enhancing the skills of mathematics educators across Uttarakhand. With such initiatives, the state aims to continually improve the quality of mathematics education, ultimately benefiting students and educators alike.
