In a crucial meeting aimed at enhancing educational opportunities in Uttarakhand, representative Rahul Garg who is EdTech Director in SATHEE project & an IIT Kanpur and IIM Calcutta alumnus he has worded in the industry world wide for 20 years; presented a detailed demonstration of the SATHEE app. The session, chaired by Bandana Garbyal, Director of Academic Research and Training, Uttarakhand, was attended by key educational leaders, including Ajay Nauriyal, Director of Secondary Education, Joint Director Kanchan Devradi, and members from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The Head of Department, D C Gaur, from SIEMAT, was also present.
The SATHEE app, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, is designed to provide free coaching for students preparing for engineering and medical entrance exams. Representative from the same team Prachi Garg as Director in this project looking after the operations, outreach and external communication, detailed as with over 1,50,000 learners already benefiting from the platform, the app offers more than 60,000 questions for practice and over 10,000 hours of video lectures. It also includes mentorship from over 600 students of premier institutions like IIT and AIIMS, aiming to guide students through their academic journey.
During the demonstration, the representatives elaborated on the app's potential benefits, particularly for students in remote areas of Uttarakhand. The app's features, including daily live doubt-clearing sessions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, were highlighted as key tools that could significantly support students in their exam preparations.
The session was a crucial step towards the potential launch of the SATHEE app in Uttarakhand schools. The gathered educational leaders, including Bandana Garbyal and Ajay Naudiyal, are now expected to deliberate on the app’s suitability and implementation strategies before making a final decision on its adoption in the state’s education system.
