Report: MOOC 2.0 Sets a New Benchmark in Teacher Professional Development in Uttarakhand

The latest data from the UK e-Srijan September 2025 Dashboard presents an inspiring success story of MOOC 2.0, an advanced online professional development course for teachers in Uttarakhand. The course, which opened in October 2025 and will remain accessible until 31 December 2025 (First Round), has already demonstrated exceptional engagement, commitment, and outcomes.

R. P. Badoni, the course coordinator, reported that the progress achieved so far is a strong reflection of teachers’ dedication to continuous professional learning, as well as the academic vision and technological leadership of SCERT Uttarakhand and its IT Department, which conceptualised and implemented this large-scale digital initiative.

Outstanding Progress at a Glance: (Dashboard Refresh Date: 17 December 2025)

The participation and completion statistics speak volumes about the success of MOOC 2.0:

Strong Institutional Participation

The dashboard also reflects robust institutional engagement across the state:

  • School Participation Rate: 97.22%

  • Teacher Participation Rate: 84.91%

These figures indicate widespread acceptance of the program at the school level and strong motivation among teachers to upskill through structured online learning.

A Model for Scalable Digital CPD

MOOC 2.0 has emerged as one of the most successful large-scale online teacher training initiatives in Uttarakhand, setting new standards for completion and certification rates. The course design, user-friendly digital platform, and continuous academic and technical support have played a crucial role in sustaining teacher engagement.

This accomplishment strengthens SCERT Uttarakhand's dedication to NEP2020-aligned continuous professional development (CPD) and establishes the state as a frontrunner in using digital platforms for teacher capacity enhancement.

As MOOC 2.0 continues towards its first-round completion on 31 December 2025, the current data already stands as a testament to what focused academic planning, strong leadership, and motivated teachers can achieve together.
