A two-day intensive workshop on the Capacity Building Unit (CBU) Plan for the iGOT Mission Karmayogi portal was successfully conducted at the Centre for Training and Research in Financial Administration (CTRFA), Sudhowala, Dehradun. The programme was organised in collaboration with ATI Nainital and was chaired by the Secretary (Karmik), Government of Uttarakhand, reflecting the state’s strong commitment to systematic and future-ready capacity building of human resources in school education.
The workshop brought together key education leaders and technical experts to design a time-bound, outcome-orientated Capacity Building Plan aligned with the national iGOT Mission Karmayogi framework. Pankaj Sharma, Deputy Director (Secondary Education), and Shailendra Singh, Deputy Director (Elementary Education), actively represented their respective directorates and presented department-specific capacity-building priorities and implementation strategies.
Ramesh Badoni, IT Faculty, SCERT Uttarakhand, represented SCERT–Academic and provided technical-academic alignment with digital learning ecosystems and competency-based professional development.
Officials Anshuman Kanduri and Vinod Payal also took part and offered important help with operations and planning, particularly in organising the CBU plan to make sure future projects are ready, have clear results, and follow set timelines and stages. As detailed in the proposal shared during the workshop, SCERT, SIEMAT, and DIET jointly presented an integrated capacity-building framework, emphasising convergence rather than fragmented training efforts. The proposal highlighted:
- Mapping of roles and competencies for academic, leadership, and support functionaries.
- Alignment of state-specific training needs with the competency taxonomy of the iGOT Mission Karmayogi platform.
- A phased implementation plan with short-, medium-, and long-term milestones to ensure timely achievement of goals.
- Use of digital learning, blended modes, and on-the-job learning to reduce training overload while improving effectiveness.
- Monitoring mechanisms, dashboards, and feedback loops for continuous improvement and impact assessment .
In parallel, the Deputy Directors of Secondary and Elementary Education presented their directorate-wise capacity-building roadmaps, focusing on leadership development, pedagogical transformation, digital competencies, and administrative efficiency. These presentations ensured that the final CBU plan remains grounded in field realities while being aligned with state and national reform agendas .
The workshop concluded with a shared vision: to operationalise the CBU plan through collaborative ownership, clear timelines, and outcome indicators. The collective efforts of SCERT, SIEMAT, DIETs, Directorates of School Education, ATI Nainital, and the Department of Karmik represent an important milestone toward building a competent, agile, and future-ready education workforce in Uttarakhand, fully leveraging the iGOT Mission Karmayogi ecosystem.
This two-day deliberation strengthened inter-institutional coordination and laid a strong foundation for sustainable capacity-building reforms in school education across the state.
