Uttarakhand Unveils State Curriculum Framework for
Foundational Stage (SCF-FS)
In a
significant development, the State Curriculum Framework for the Foundational
Stage (SCF-FS) was officially launched in Uttarakhand. The unveiling ceremony
was presided over by the Honorable Education Minister, Dr. Dhan Singh,
representing the Uttarakhand government.
The
SCF-FS, a comprehensive document outlining the state's educational approach to
foundational learning, was presented to the public by the State Council of
Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in collaboration with the Education
Department. The creation of this framework involved the dedicated efforts of
academic experts, educators, trainers, and officials from within the state and
across the country. Director General Secondary Education Shri Banshidhar Mentioned that this document will be an integral part of integrating NEP 2020 into the geography of Uttarakhand.
The
document was meticulously prepared and briefly
detailed by Mrs Bandana Garbyal, the Director of Academic, Research
and Training incorporating valuable insights and suggestions provided by
educators and officials. The aim was to make the framework practical and
beneficial for implementation at the grassroots level.
Speaking
at the launch, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh expressed gratitude to all
contributors and highlighted the alignment of the SCF-FS with the National
Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He emphasized the government's commitment to
initiating the development of curriculum guidelines for the secondary level in
line with NEP-2020.
The
event witnessed the presence of key figures, including the Members of the Steering
committee, the Dean of Education Mrs. Sunita Godiyal from HNB University, the principals
from DIETs of Uttarakhand, the Additional Secretary, the Director of Secondary
Education, the Director of Primary Education, and other senior officials,
showcasing the collective dedication towards shaping the educational landscape
in Uttarakhand.
This
groundbreaking initiative aims to lay the foundation for the holistic
development of children, fostering qualities such as morality, logical
thinking, compassion, and empathy. Additionally, the framework addresses the
specific needs of children in rural and economically disadvantaged areas,
ensuring inclusive and robust early childhood education.
The
launch event also underscored the importance of incorporating scientific
resources in early education, focusing on play-based learning, and imparting
essential skills to Anganwadi workers and teachers.

SCF-FS is poised to play a pivotal roll On this occasion, the Director General of School Education, Mr. Banshidhar Tiwari, Mrs. Seema Jaunsari, Director of Secondary Education, Mr. Ramakrishna Uniyal, Director of Elementary Education, Additional Director SCERT, Mr. Ajay Kumar Naudiyal, Additional Director of Elementary, Mr. Shiv Prasad Khali and Additional Director General of Directorate, Mr. RC Chamola ji, Chairman of the steering committee formed to prepare the outline of the state curriculum, Mr. Rakesh Chandra Jugran, Principal DIET, Dehradun, Joint Director NEP Cell, Mrs. Kanchan Devradi, Deputy Director, Mr. Shailendra Amoli, Mr. Krishnanand Vijalwan, Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht Professional. CMAT, Ravidarshan Topal Coordinator NEP Cell Mr. Manoj Bahuguna, all officers, CMAT and subject experts from SCERT and DIET were present.le in shaping the educational journey of
Uttarakhand's future generations, fostering well-rounded and capable citizens.
