A significant Core Group Meeting on the future expansion and strengthening of PM eVIDYA channels in Uttarakhand was organized at SCERT Uttarakhand under the guidance of Additional Director Padmendra Saklani. The meeting focused on upcoming reforms, content development strategies, budget utilization, capacity building, and the long-term vision for the state's PM eVIDYA initiative.
The meeting began with a welcome address by PM eVIDYA State Coordinator Pushpa Aswal, who outlined the objectives of the consultation and emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to enhance the quality and reach of educational broadcasting across the state.
A detailed presentation was delivered by Dr. K. N. Bijalwan, Nodal Officer, PM eVIDYA Uttarakhand. He presented the current status of the state's five PM eVIDYA channels and shared the proposed roadmap for the upcoming academic sessions. Special attention was given to the approved budget allocation of approximately ₹1.82 crore, which will support content creation, teacher training, studio production, technical operations, and channel management activities.
The meeting was attended by senior education officials, including the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Dehradun, and C. Praturi, Secretary, Uttarakhand Board of School Education, along with representatives from various departments and institutions. Their participation enriched the discussions with valuable suggestions and policy perspectives.
Saurabh Joshi provided technical support during the presentation sessions and facilitated the sharing of digital resources with participants. An open discussion was held where departmental heads and education experts proposed innovative approaches to make PM eVIDYA channels more engaging, inclusive, and learner-centric.
The meeting highlighted the importance of developing high-quality educational content aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the learning needs of students across different grades. It was decided that content development would be undertaken by experienced teachers and teacher educators from SCERT and DIETs across Uttarakhand. Their academic expertise will ensure that the content remains relevant, curriculum-aligned, and pedagogically sound.
The technical implementation and broadcasting support are expected to be strengthened through collaboration with NIELIT and other technical partners. The IT team also participated actively in the meeting and presented various technological solutions for content production, digital archiving, online dissemination, and monitoring of educational broadcasts.
Participants discussed future plans including advanced teacher training programmes, development of interactive learning resources, integration of digital tools, improved student engagement strategies, and expansion of educational content for diverse learner groups.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to transform PM eVIDYA into a more dynamic, accessible, and impactful platform for school education in Uttarakhand. Through coordinated efforts of SCERT, DIETs, technical experts, and educational administrators, the initiative aims to provide quality digital learning opportunities to every learner across the state.
The deliberations reflected Uttarakhand's continued dedication to leveraging technology for educational equity, innovation, and excellence, ensuring that PM eVIDYA remains a strong pillar of the state's digital education ecosystem.
