The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttarakhand celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and active participation of faculty members, officers, staff and teachers.
The celebration reflected the values of unity, national pride, dedication and collective responsibility towards education and nation-building.
Flag Hoisting and Jai Ghosh
The Independence Day programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Additional Director Padmendra Saklani, in the gracious presence of Deputy Director Vinod Matuda and Assistant Director Dr. K. N. Bijalwan.
As the Tricolour unfurled, the SCERT campus echoed with patriotic enthusiasm. Sunil Bhatt and Dr. Manoj Shukla initiated the energetic Jai Ghosh and patriotic slogans, which were enthusiastically joined by officers, faculty members, staff and teachers present on the occasion.
The atmosphere was filled with the spirit of “Jai Hind” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” creating a strong sense of national pride and togetherness.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, all faculty members, officers, staff and guests proceeded to the SCERT auditorium, where a colourful cultural programme was organised to mark the occasion.
The programme became even more vibrant with the participation of teachers attending the ongoing PM eVIDYA workshop at SCERT Uttarakhand. Their presence added to the collective celebration and brought together educators from different backgrounds on this important national occasion.
A major attraction of the cultural programme was the melodious singing by Dr. Usha Katiyar which was warmly appreciated by everyone present.
Several SCERT faculty members also actively participated in the programme through patriotic speeches, Kavita Vachan (poetry recitation), songs and other cultural expressions. Each presentation reflected love for the nation and remembered the sacrifices and ideals that shaped independent India.
The cultural programme was not merely a celebration but also an opportunity for everyone to reflect upon the responsibilities that come with freedom.
The Independence Day celebration highlighted the important role of teachers and educational institutions in building a progressive, inclusive and empowered India.
During the cultural celebration in the SCERT auditorium, Director Academic Bandana Garbyal joined the gathering and extended her warm wishes to all officers, faculty members, staff and participating teachers on the occasion of Independence Day. Her presence added warmth and inspiration to the celebration. She conveyed her greetings to the entire SCERT family and encouraged everyone to continue contributing with dedication, unity and a strong sense of responsibility towards quality education and nation-building.
As an academic institution working towards strengthening school education in Uttarakhand, SCERT Uttarakhand continues to contribute through teacher education, research, innovation, digital learning, curriculum development and capacity building.
The occasion reminded everyone that education has a significant role in nurturing responsible, creative and compassionate citizens who can contribute towards the vision of a developed India.
The Independence Day programme concluded with a strong feeling of patriotism, institutional togetherness and renewed commitment towards education and nation-building.
The participation of SCERT officers, faculty, staff and PM eVIDYA workshop teachers made the celebration memorable and reflected the collective spirit of the SCERT Uttarakhand family.
