As part of the statewide implementation of Innovate Uttarakhand – Hackathon 3.0 (2026–27), SCERT Uttarakhand conducted an important online orientation and coordination webinar today, 16 September 2026, bringing together Mentors, Supervisors, Resource Persons from DIETs, and BRP–CRPs from different blocks.
The webinar focused on accelerating Hackathon 3.0 registration and participation at the school level. Participants were oriented about their important role as the connecting link between SCERT, DIETs, blocks and schools, so that information about the Hackathon reaches teachers and students quickly and eligible participants are encouraged to register and submit innovative ideas.
From State Level to Every School
A major focus of the interaction was to develop an effective implementation chain:
SCERT → DIET → Block/BRP–CRP → School → Teacher & Student
The participating Mentors, Supervisors and Resource Persons will coordinate with schools in their respective districts and blocks, provide guidance regarding the Hackathon process, motivate teachers and students to identify real-life challenges, and support them in converting their ideas into meaningful and innovative solutions.
Special emphasis was placed on fast implementation and increasing registrations, so that students and teachers from Classes 6–12 and the wider education community get an opportunity to participate in this state-level innovation platform.
Focus on Ideas, Innovation and Real-World Solutions
Participants were encouraged to motivate schools not merely to increase the number of registrations, but also to identify new ideas, local challenges and practical solutions. Hackathon 3.0 provides an opportunity to work in areas such as education and smart learning, environment and climate, disaster and road safety, health and sanitation, agriculture and rural development, tourism and local livelihood, inclusive education, cybersecurity, coding, AI and digital solutions.
The webinar also highlighted the importance of mentoring. Mentors and supervisors will help participants understand the challenge categories, refine their ideas and move progressively towards the development of viable prototypes.

Building a Statewide Innovation Network
Hackathon 3.0 is envisioned not simply as a competition, but as a statewide innovation movement connecting students, teachers, mentors, academic institutions and administrators. The involvement of DIET Resource Persons and BRP–CRPs is particularly significant because they can directly coordinate with schools and ensure that information, mentoring and implementation support reach participants at the grassroots level.
The next priority is to ensure maximum outreach, timely registration and quality participation from schools across Uttarakhand. Mentors and supervisors will play a key role in identifying potential innovators and ensuring that promising ideas receive appropriate academic and technical guidance.

With coordinated efforts from SCERT, DIETs, BRP–CRPs, mentors, supervisors and schools, the initiative aims to bring forward innovative ideas from every corner of Uttarakhand and transform them into solutions with the potential to address real educational and societal challenges.
